Tagged Shadow DNA sample
This DNA sample from a Toxic Shadow seems to be tagged by a unique Xan protein that is attached to the DNA helix itself.Analysis of the protein would indicate that it was some form of genetic marker used by the Xan to actually track and also affect the development of the host species. Rather then tagging the creatures with a physical object, they appear to have been able to insert this protein into a creature's DNA so that the marker would be passed down to future generations of the creature's offspring. As well storing changes to the DNA this protein seems to be designed to also increase the creature's abilities and development over time. The protein seems to have added extra sequences to the DNA itself over time. Jobe scientists are currently working on identifying which parts of the DNA are original and which parts the Xan tampered with.
